Independence and Confidentiality
At iQuate we realize that confidentiality is of critical importance to our customers. We also value our independence from major software vendors.
At iQuate we are trusted by our customers with sensitive and confidential information. We are aware that this information could be tremendously valuable to suppliers but our only loyalty is to our customers. Therefore, we do not share any customer data with anyone external to the customer.
iQuate is an independent organization. We do not make money by selling enterprise software licenses and we do not work on behalf of any software vendor. This means that we focus on just delivering the facts. Therefore there is no incentive for us to represent the data to fit any specific agenda.
This is why partners working with iQSonar trust it to deliver the accurate data they need to do their job properly and customers trust us to just tell them the truth about their assets.
Frequently Asked Questions
You are an Oracle Partner, doesn’t this mean that you are contractually obliged to send any licensing information back to Oracle?
No. There is no obligation on our part to share any customer inventory, usage or deployment data with Oracle.
Surely the Oracle Verified Status means that you have a relationship with Oracle. How can you claim to be independent?
The Oracle verification means one thing: Oracle LMS will accept the data from our tool – iQSonar – instead of using their own staff or tools. They have ‘verified’ the accuracy of the data we return. If you are an Oracle customer, there is no point having a tool unless it is verified.
There is no obligation on us to share any data we discover with LMS or any other part of Oracle.
You claim to be working with Microsoft and other vendors – how can you say you are independent?
We work with other vendors to ensure we collect the relevant, accurate data they need to determine an accurate position. We call this Measurement. Many tools claim to offer Discovery and Inventory, but we are the only ones to have this focus on Measurement so we deliver real value and benefit to our customers. Each vendor has their own unique licensing metrics and so dealing directly with them is the most effective way to ensure we deliver the data needed to license their software accurately. This is why we continue to deliver the highest levels of Measurement possible.
Surely you will use the information you find to try and sell me additional licenses on behalf of my enterprise software vendors?
No. We do not and will not resell software licenses on behalf of any other vendor.
Will you resell any details you discover about my environment to any third parties?
No. We respect your privacy. iQuate will never resell, share or otherwise distribute any information we uncover during our engagement with you.
Why are you stating your position on this so clearly?
iQuate has become aware that some companies who feel they are competing with iQuate are telling their customers and prospects that our relationship with vendors such as Oracle means that we are obliged to share customer data. We therefore felt it was important to clearly state our position on such an important and central issue for us.
