Auto-Detection

Description

Auto-detection is a scheduled search of your network to find new computers that have joined. It can be scheduled to run at a set interval of between 10 minutes and 2 hours (recommended for large networks).

Auto-detection can check either a specified domain or all domains. It can also be configured to check a target computer group (this can contain domains, computers and IP addresses). It is also possible to automatically create a scan based on the discovery.

How to use

To enable an auto-detection enable the top 'Yes' option and pick the interval you require using the slider. You can then select the type of discovery to use either:

  • Domain based
    • If you choose domain based discovery you can choose to scan all detected domains, or a particular domain.
  • Group base
    • Choosing group based discovery allows you to select the target computer group you require from the group drop down.

Finally you can enable the automatic scanning of discovered machines and the template you wish to use.

Clicking 'apply' will save any changes.
